Doctors of Optometry Serving Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Optometric Association (WOA) is a nonprofit affiliation of licensed doctors of optometry and associated businesses dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the vision welfare of the people of Wisconsin.
The WOA assists optometrists in the development and delivery of high quality, cost effective, state of the art eye care to the citizens of the Wisconsin
The WOA also maintains an affiliation with the American Optometric Association (AOA). The WOA accomplishes its goals through:
- Education and dissemination of information to its members, to private and public companies and organizations, and to the general public
- Organized governmental activity, legislation and regulation
- Mediation with consumer and public interest groups
- Providing collective benefits to its members
The vision of the Wisconsin Optometric Association is to be the recognized authority on vision and eye health care in Wisconsin while serving as the primary advocate for the profession of optometry throughout the state.
Approximately 630 doctors of optometry are currently members of the WOA, located in nearly every county in the state. All members must be licensed and certified to practice optometry by the state of Wisconsin.
The headquarters for the Wisconsin Optometric Association is in Madison, where a full-time staff occupies offices. The Executive Vice President of the WOA is Mr. Peter J. Theo.
Association personnel can be reached Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Voicemail affords 24-hour access year round.
